Summer-student fellowships in Astrophysics Research
The Centro de Estudios de Física del Cosmos de Aragón (CEFCA) is opening two positions for a summer-student fellowship. The positions will be offered to Master students who want to start engaging into astrophysical research.
About CEFCA
The CEFCA is a research institution located in the city of Teruel (Aragón, Spain) and is in charge of the construction and operation of the Javalambre Astrophysical Observatory (OAJ), where two different sky surveys will be carried out (J-PLUS and J-PAS). On top of leading the construction of the OAJ, their telescopes and panoramic instrumentation, CEFCA has a group of researchers, focused mainly on Cosmology and Galaxy Formation, with specific expertise in Computational Cosmology, the study of the Large Scale Structure and its interplay with the Cosmic Microwave Background radiation, Stellar Populations, Galaxy Interactions, Quasars and Emission Line Galaxies.
Details of the fellowship
The fellowship will last for two and half months, starting on 4th July 2016 and finishing on 16th September 2016.
Gross salary amounts to 700 Euro/month and a health insurance is included.
Experience of the applicants
Candidates must be Master students in Astrophysics, Astronomy, Physics or Mathematics in the 2015 – 2016 course.
Candidates also must be citizens of a EU member state, or of Norway, Iceland, Lichtenstein or Switzerland. They can also be foreign residing in Spain at the time the fellowship starts.
Application procedure
Candidates must send the following documentation:
- Certificate of their academic status.
- List of any course, qualification, research experience and previously obtained grants/fellowships in the form of a "Curriculum vitae".
- If available, one reference letter from a University Professor.

Selection procedure
A committee will review the applications and make public the grant resolution in CEFCA's web page by 20th May 2016.
Fellowships adjudication
