Last May, the Agencia Aragonesa para la Investigación y el Desarrollo (ARAID) signed a new cooperation agreement with the Centro de Estudios de Física del Cosmos de Aragón (CEFCA). The aim of the agreement is the promotion of scientific research and technological expertise within the borders of the Autonomous Community of Aragon.

Under the terms of the agreement, and with the full support and cooperation of ARAID, CEFCA will be responsible for the formulation and implementation of new lines of research and the public distribution of its scientific output as well as the creation of new outreach programmes that promote the public understanding of Astrophysics and Cosmology. The agreement, which is still pending of ratification by the CEFCA board, will have an initial run of two years.
