Talk "Per Aspera ad Astra: Brief history of sky observation"
The Centro de Estudios de Física del Cosmos de Aragón (CEFCA), in collaboration with Fundación Caja Inmaculada de Teruel, has organized an outreach talk with the title "Per Aspera ad Astra: Brief history of sky observation". The conference, opened to the general public, will be given next Thursday, 15th February, at 19:30pm in the CAI Auditorium of Teruel by Dr. Alessandro Ederoclite, from CEFCA.
The activity will be set in the Middle Ages, acording with the Festival of Bodas de Isabel de Segura, which will take place next weekend in the city. In 1217, at the epoch of the Lovers of Teruel, the observation of the sky was mostly done by naked eye. Nowadays, technology has advanced so much that we can do astronomy with more tools than light. During this presentation, Dr. Ederoclite will review the milestones of astronomical observation, from the human eye to the extremely large telescopes, including the Observatorio Astrofísico de Javalambre (Teruel) in this framework.
