JST250 telescope opens up to international collaboration and projects
The meeting of the Astronomy Infrastructures Network has been the setting to learn about the future scientific collaborations that will be coming to the Javalambre Astrophysical Observatory (OAJ) in the coming months. Some 50 researchers from various Spanish and international centres attended this meeting, which started on 21 November in Teruel, both physically and telematically.
this meeting, the scientific community has been presented how will be the competitive call for access to observing time with JPCam, which corresponds to the open time that the OAJ offers to the astronomical community as a national Singular Scientific and Technical Infrastructure (ICTS) for the development of research projects.
The CEFCA representatives will explain the JST250 observing strategy, different from the traditional ones. They will detail processes and tasks such as calculating the exposure time needed to achieve the required data quality and delimiting the area covered by an observation. The aim is to enable astrophysicists from all over the world to prepare their proposals for further research with the OAJ.
