CEFCA has organized today, February 14th, a conference opened to the general public, which is entitled "Variable stars through the centuries". The lecture will be given at 19:30 pm in the CAI Auditorium of Teruel by Dr. Alessandro Ederoclite, a CEFCA researcher.

The variability of celestial phenomena has been observed for thousands of years. However, its use for the improvement of the scientific knowledge has only been possible in the past four centuries.

In the presentation, Dr. Ederoclite will tour the history of the studies on variable stars, from the first observations with the naked eye to the large mappings of today, highlighting the major scientific and technological advances related to these observations.
