A Nobel laureate to conclude the total Solar Eclipse celebrations

Two particles remain connected in a way that classical physics cannot explain, so that whatever happens to one is instantly reflected in the other. This is quantum entanglement, a phenomenon that even Albert Einstein questioned. On 4 October 2022, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics to Alain Aspect, together with John Clauser and Anton Zeilinger, as "for pioneering experiments with entangled photons, establishing the violation of Bell inequalities and pioneering quantum information science." Their work established them as leading figures of the second quantum revolution, laying the foundations for the quantum technologies and computers that are transforming today's world.

The author of If Einstein Had Known will visit Teruel on 13 August to deliver a public lecture entitled "The Two Quantum Revolutions: From Concepts to Applications." This unique event offers the public the opportunity to explore the fascinating world of quantum physics guided by one of the scientists who has shaped the field. The lecture will take place at the San Julián Social Centre, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Admission is free of charge. Attendance simply requires prior registration through the online form accessible via the QR code printed on the event poster.

The event is organised by the Directorate-General for Science and Research of the Government of Aragón, the Teruel City Council, and CEFCA, with the support of Caja Rural de Teruel.
