CEFCA aims to cooperate with engineering universities around the world

The Polytechnic University School of Teruel has highlighted Galactica and the Javalambre Astrophysical Observatory within the technological and scientific offer of Teruel. Representatives from several European universities and other centres visited the province in two working days as part of the International Partners' Week held on 28 and 29 October. The meeting aims to promote cooperation between different engineering universities. Each centre presented the academic and mobility challenges, projects or ideas for collaboration that could arise in this network.

Thus, the different international representatives learned first-hand about the Galactica dissemination project and visited the centre located in Arcos de las Salinas. The group then discovered the scientific work being carried out at the Javalambre Astrophysical Observatory, which houses two of the most powerful telescopes in the world for mapping the Universe. Both JAST80 and JST250 are part of a common project: to build large maps of thousands of square degrees of the sky as seen from Javalambre

The ambassadors on behalf of the Centro de Estudios de Física del Cosmos de Aragón were Axel Yanes, head of the Engineering Department, and Stylianos Pyrzas, coordinator of Galactica, with the aim of disseminating the scientific work of CEFCA. The Polytechnic School, responsible for the conference, and in which they also got to know the Teruel Airport, wants to attract students and teaching staff with the development of lines of collaboration with these universities from Italy, Poland, Romania, Lithuania, Algeria and Colombia.
